Huawei unveils the P8 Lite (2017) with Android 7.0 & Kirin 655 processor

Huawei has quietly released a refreshed successor to their earlier P8 Lite at CES 2017 initially destined for European markets. Oddly, it also improves on the P9 Lite that was released last year.

Complicated nomenclature aside, the new P8 Lite (2017) has a beefed up set of hardware and looks distinctly different from its predecessor with the glossy midnight black mirrored finish of the Honor 8 though it has also been seen in gold and white.

The P8 Lite (2017) comes with a 5.2-inch 1080P touchscreen, a new HiSilicon Kirin 655 octacore processor running Android 7.0 Nougat paired with 3GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage and has a rear 12-MP camera that is flush with the casing along with a front 8-MP selfie camera. The non-removable 3,000mAh battery charged by a microUSB port. Perched on the rear is a rounded fingerprint sensor. It is slated to hit European markets with a price tag that clocks in at around €239 which is equivalent to RM1,135 and it comes in three different colours – black, white and gold. There’s no news on a local launch as yet or if it will reached Malaysia but we’ll keep you posted.
