Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro and Watch GT 6 launched in Malaysia; up to 21 days battery life from RM999

Huawei has officially launched the successors to their prior Watch GT 5 series smart wearables in Malaysia dubbed the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro and Watch GT 6 that offer more accurate and comprehensive health management capabilities, more premium build quality and significantly longer battery life spanning up to 21 days.

To achieve this level of endurance, the Huawei Watch GT 6 series all come with high-silicon stacked batteries that have been specially moulded for the watch itself which are able to offer up to 65% more capacity than its predecessors.

This time around, the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is only issued in a 46mm size with different straps that consist of your choice of black fluoroelastomer, a brown composite woven strap or one made of premium titanium.

The watch itself has a 1.47-inch round AMOLED display with 466 x 466 pixels resolution that’s 5.5% larger than its predecessor 3,000 nits peak brightness for superior visibility under sunlight. The display is also protected by sapphire glass for added resistance to scratches and nicks.

The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is rated for 5ATM water resistance and also has an IP69 rating along with certification for dives up to 40 meters in depth. On paper, the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro is rated for up to 21 days of battery life with about 12 days of usage based on average usage conditions.

Of note is an improved Sunflower positioning system that has 20% better navigational accuracy. The Watch GT 6 Pro also has an integrated running coach that can optimise performance over time with detailed guidance. In addition, it also has an improved version of their professional-golf performance tracker that offers over 17,000 golf course maps complete with vectors for more efficient gameplay.

The watches also offer over 100 sports modes and also has a cycling virtual power feature to offer a means to quantitatively measure riding intensity in real time for cycling enthusiasts. Additional perks include fall detection support on top of automatic tracking of Sp02, heart rate, pressure and altitude shifts.

The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro also has an improved, more accurate TruSense health tracking system that also measures emotional wellbeing, sleep tracking with HRV analysis and, only for the Pro variant, ECG monitoring.

Last but not least, the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro also supports Touch ‘n Go eWallet QR payments straight off the watch itself for easier payment independent of pairing with a phone. The Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro also has support for My Border Pass which makes cc travel quite a bit easier.

Huawei Watch GT 6 46mm and 41mm specs

Unlike the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro, the Watch GT 6 comes in 46mm and 41mm sizes with the 46mm featuring a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with 466 x 466 pixels resolution and 21 days of battery life while the smaller 41mm version has a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with 466 x 466 pixels resolution and up to 14 days battery life. Both displays feature up to 3,000 nits peak brightness.

Both variants are made of stainless steel but come in different straps with the 46mm featuring your choice of black, green and grey straps while the 41mm comes with purple, white and brown colourways. The Watch GT 6 series all also feature the same 5 ATM water resistance and IP69 water resistance certification but isn’t officially rated for 40m dives but shallow water dips in the pool are easily achievable.

Like the Pro variant the Watch GT 6 series has the same features including the improved Sunflower positioning system, the same fall detection support,100 sports mods and cycling virtual power feature. This is on top of the usual Sp02, heart rate, pressure and altitude shift measurements. It also features the same improved TruSense monitoring though it does not have ECG reading capability as a concession to cost.

Also like the Watch GT 6 Pro, the Watch GT 6 in 46mm and 41mm feature Touch ‘n Go eWallet QR payment support and the MyBorderPass app.

Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 and Huawei Watch D2 specs

The pinnacle of Huawei’s watch tech, the Watch Ultimate 2 is the first smartwatch to support 150-metre dives, and has sonar-based underwater communication capabilities. Unlike its brethren, the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 has a sturdier zirconium-based liquid metal case, a nanocrystal ceramic bezel and tough sapphire glass in your choice of either black or blue.

The sonar-based communication feature lets the watch send preset messages to other users within 30 metres without the need for additional gear and can emit an SOS within 60 metres.

The watch also has their X-TAP and super-sensing modules with ten trackable health metrics including real-time Sp02 monitoring, heart rate and sleep tracking.

On paper, the Watch Ultimate 2 offers up to 11 days of battery life and has the same Watch GT 6 Pro’s potent Sunflower Positioning System for accurate location in the field tracking. Interestingly enough, it also has the same Golf Course mode as the GT 6 series with maps of over 17,000 golf courses around the globe.

In the case of the Huawei Watch D2, Huawei is now offering the watch that offers an integrated blood pressure measurement cuff with a new blue colourway and offers 80 workout modes and a 1.82-inch AMOLED display.
