Huawei Watch GT Active and Elegant smartwatch coming to Malaysia
The Huawei Watch GT was released sometime last year but the launch of the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro also saw revamped versions of Huawei’s titular smart timepiece with a refreshed new look dubbed the Huawei Watch GT Active Edition and the Watch GT Elegant Edition.
The Watch GT Active Edition similar hardware as last year’s Watch GT that includes a 1.39-inch AMOLED HD display with 454 x 454 pixels and a 46mm sized watch strap but includes a redesigned bezel and new coloured bands for your delectation in orange and dark green. Other refinements including fitness tracking functionality with a triathlon mode, sleep and heart rate tracking as well as the usual round of message notifications off your paired smartphone. With constant use, the Huawei Watch GT Active Edition can offer about two weeks of battery life.
The Huawei Watch GT Elegant Edition features a smaller 42mm sized watch strap and a smaller 1.2-inch AMOLED HD display up front with 390 x 390 pixel resolution as well as a bezel made of ceramic with matching coloured straps in either black or white. Battery life is a bit shorter on the Elegant edition at about a week before needing a recharge.
At launch, Huawei announced that the Active Edition will retail for €249 (about RM 1,143) and €229 for the Elegant edition (about RM1,051). Huawei Malaysia did announce that they’ll be bringing in the new generation of Huawei Watch GT series smartwatches to the country though which variants be it the Elegant or Active edition, or both at the same time and how much they will cost have as yet been unannounced but they’ll likely hit store shelves the same time as the anticipated local launch of the P30 and P30 Pro this coming April 6 2019. Stay tuned for updates!
