Illegear Onyx Pro and Selenite Pro customisable laptops arrive in Malaysia

There aren’t many notebook manufacturers that let you customise your laptops to order but Illegear is certainly one of the most noteworthy ones of late and they’ve just released two high-end notebooks dubbed the Onyx Pro and Selenite Pro that you can kit out the wazoo, as long as your pockets run deep, of course.

The Illegear Onyx Pro and Selenite Pro are highly capable gaming notebooks but are equally capable of content creation with the right upgrades.

Both built of magnesium alloy for weight savings with the Selenite Pro being the heavier and chunkier of the two at 2kg and 19mm thin on account of its larger girth and 17.3-inch display while the Onyx Pro is a bit lighter at 1.5kg and 18mm thin with a 15.6-inch display.

In terms of hardware, the Illegear Selenite Pro and Onyx Pro both come with a 9th Gen Intel COre i7-9750H processor and can be equipped with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM or NVIDIA Optimus graphics. Both notebooks come with 16GB DDR5 RAM expandable to 32GB tops. Storage needs are tackled by a 512GB NVMe PCIE SSD though you can opt for two M.2 2280 SSDs in either RAID 0 or 1 configuration of your choice for either notebook.

Where both differ is in terms of their display options. The larger Selenite Pro can be kitted with up to a 17.3-inch 240Hz display with 100% sRGB support while the smaller Onyx Pro can come with up to a 15.6-inch Samsung AMOLED 4K display. Prices for the Selenite Pro start from RM6,699 while the Onyx Pro has prices starting from RM6,499.
