INO-SEA Southeast Asia Innovation Center officially opens at Sunway College, heralds new era of creative collaboration
The School of Innovation, Hubei Institute of Fine Arts (HIFA) marked the establishment of their international innovation platform, the INO-SEA Southeast Asia Innovation Center which is the first in Southeast Asia with a grand inauguration ceremony that took place on 17 November 2025 at Sunway College Kuala Lumpur.
What is the INO-SEA Southeast Asia Innovation Center?
At the event Mr. Augustine Wong, Principal of Sunway College Kuala Lumpur along with a host of other dignitaries from Malaysian universities and creative industry guests unveiled the new INO-SEA Southeast Asia Innovation Center and discussed future collaborations in joint programmes, courses, exhibitions and further academic exchanges.

This new innovation platform, officially titled as the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, School of Innovation – Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian Innovation Center was established with the mission of ‘Bridging China and Southeast Asia through Design and Culture’ with the overarching goal of enhancing the internationalisation of design education, promoting youth innovation and building sustainable creative exchanges between China and ASEAN.
“The establishment of INO-SEA is an important milestone for both institutions. It provides new opportunities for academic collaboration and injects new energy into the creative industry in the region.” said Augustine Wong.
