International support for the Eurofighter Typhoon for Malaysia
At Defense Services Asia 2018, BAE Systems has proposed the Eurofighter Typhoon for consideration by the Malaysian armed forces. Adoption of the Eurofighter will see the potential to generate 21,000 jobs for Malaysians by 2041.
To reaffirm commitment to the Eurofighter Typhoon as the next generation multi role fighter for the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the British High Commissioner for Malaysia, Her Excellency Vicki Treadell, CMG MVO, was joined by her counterparts from Germany, His Excellency Nikolaus Grag, Italy; His Excellency Cristiano Maggipinto and Spain, His Excellency Carlo Dominguez Diaz gathered for a photo call at the BAE Systems stand.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is currently in service with a host of countries that include Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK. The Typhoon has proven itself to be an exceptionally effective air frame that can tackle dogfights and ground support missions with a highly versatile payload and a superb performance envelope that can meet a host of modern threats.
DSA 2018 is a showcase of some of the most technologically advanced offerings in the field of defense from all over the world crammed under one roof at the Malaysia International Trade Centre. The biennial event sees over 70,000 visitors from over 60 countries and over 150 exhibitors participating in one of the world’s largest defense trade shows from 16 to 19 April 2018.
