iQOO 13 gaming phone with Snapdragon 8 Elite on preorders in Malaysia; prices start from RM3,499
If you’re on the hunt for something that can tackle mobile gaming with a measure of justice, you’re in luck as iQOO have just debuted their new flagship iQOO 13 gaming phone in Malaysia that packs the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset along with a bevy of other unique enhancements that are intended to make it a superior gaming phone.
What is the iQOO 13?
The iQOO 13 gaming phone sports a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 2K (1,440 x 3,168 pixels) resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and 4,500 nits peak brightness even under bright daylight conditions. The display also has OLED Circular Polarisation Tech certified by TÜV Rheinland and vivo Visual Health Labs to offer up 2,592 Hz PWM dimming to minimise eye fatigue. Flanking the display are a pair of Symmetrical Drum Master Speakers for better sound staging and detail.
Under the hood, the iQOO 13 comes with the aforementioned latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and two RAM/storage configurations, both of which feature fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. In Malaysia, you get your choice of either 12GB RAM/256GB storage or 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage. Where the iQOO 13 is unique is that it has an additional Supercomputing Chip Q2 alongside the main Snapdragon chipset that supports a 144 fps frame rate in supported mobile games that typically cap their frame rates and up to 2K ingame resolution upscaling.
Keeping the whole affair cool is an upgraded 7000mm² vapour chamber that IQOO has referred to as a 7K Ultra VC Cooling System that has a 17% larger cooling area compared to its predecessor for better heat dissipation. Keeping the whole iQOO 13 juiced is a large 6,000mAh battery that also features fast wired 120W FlashCharge tech.
While gaming is the IQOO 13’s raison d’etre, the phone has a solid set of cameras too with the inclusion of a rear triple 50MP camera array with a main camera, telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 50MP ultra wide angle camera with the whole setup capable of up to 8K@30fps video capture and up to 30x zoom. Interestingly, the camera housing has a series of subtle LED lights surrounding it that are used for notifications on top of the usual vibration haptics in most phones. Up front, the phone has a 32MP camera for video calls.
iQOO 13 price in Malaysia
Starting from today, the iQOO 13 is up for preorders until 6 December in Malaysia with the 12GB RAM/256GB variant priced at RM3,499 and the 16GB RAM/512GB variant priced at RM3,699 with up to RM1,410 in free gifts that include a pair of iQOO TWS 1e earbuds, 2 years of screen crack protection and an iQOO 1+2 year warranty.
