Jabra’s new Evolve 75 are the office headphones you want
Jabra is known for serving up a literally sound line-up of hardware and solutions for consumers and business enterprises alike the world over. Desk jockeys have particular reason to rejoice though as Jabra has just come up with something that may just make the hours clocked in cubicleville a lot more pleasant and productive. Their new Jabra Evolve 75 wireless Bluetooth headset ticks off all the important bullet points on what executives would want in a pair of headphones for use in a corporate environment. Externally, the headphones exude the usual corporate chic look with a matte black finish done up with red trim.
The headphones feature a flexible and adjustable headband with plush padding on the underside to offer better comfort when worn. The headband itself is also heavily ruggedised and can be twisted like a pretzel with no untoward effects.
Each can on the Evolve 75 comes with a 40mm driver ensconced in a faux leather ear cup on a semi-flexible hinge to offer more comfort. The Evolve 75 also has both passive and active noise cancellation tech for distraction free listening and the active noise cancellation can be toggled off or on as needed to squelch background noises with extreme prejudice. It won’t exactly null out the noise on a gunnery range but it will by and large squelch almost all of the background noise that you’d encounter in an office environment without any undue complications. You can also turn on a ‘busy light’ on the headphones to indicate that you are otherwise doing something productive though it will automatically activate if you’re taking a call.
A flip down boom mike with integrated noise cancellation tech lets you make and take calls in HD. It also has the helpful ability to automatically set itself to mute when you flip it up and back to live audio when you flip it down.
The Evolve 75 headphones also comes with the ability to pair with up to two devices simultaneously for both calls and music with a range of about 10 metres when paired to a smartphone and up to 30 metres when paired to a notebook via a bundled USB dongle. All the call and playback controls are accessible on the cans themselves and a full charge nets you about 13.5 hours of battery life. Charging the Evolve 75 is via a microUSB port and you can also acquire it with a natty looking dock that also acts as a stand when not in use or charging.
Of note is that the Evolve 75 is certified for Open Office and Outdoor requirements for Skype for Business from Microsoft along with other Unified Communications platforms. You can acquire the Jabra Evolve 75 at a price tag of approximately USD329 (about RM1,423) inclusive of the charging stand or USD279 (about RM 1,207) sans the stand with both prices non-inclusive of GST in Malaysia.
