Leagoo’s Shark 1 phone goes for the kill
If you’re keen on a budget phablet with a huge screen and ridiculously good battery life, Leagoo’s new Shark 1 phone looks like something that’s right up your alley. The phone comes with a 6-inch 1080p 368ppi display sheathed in 4th gen Corning Gorilla curved 2.5D glass crammed into a svelte metal unibody chassis that is just 8.5mm thin and weighs 240g.
The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop on a MediaTek 64-bit M6753 1.3GHz octacore processor paired with 3GB RAM and 16GB of built-in expandable storage. The Shark 1 sports a hybrid SIM/microSD card tray that lets you use either two microSIM cards or one SIM and a microSD card slot to augment the onboard memory.
Nestled up top near the upper right of the phone is a 13-MP camera with a Sony-sourced BSI-2 sensor and a dual LED flash. The front comes with a 5-Mp selfie camera along with a front-facing LED flash for better selfies. The rear camera comes with the usual array of modes including a HDR mode, a manual PRO mode where you can tweak the settings as needed, a panorama and a picture-in-picture mode to capture a swath of the background and a selfie.
Just below the rear camera is a fingerprint sensor that has a 0.39 second unlock time along with the ability to perform a few interesting tricks like launching apps and taking snaps. Another bonus is a top-mounted IR blaster to let the Shark 1 act as a remote control for your telly and other devices.
Where the Shark 1 aims to impress is the inclusion of a massive 6,300mAh Li-Po non-removable battery with their Pump Express Fast Charge tech that gives you a 55% charge in 30 minutes and 1 hour and 45 minutes for a full charge. On paper, it’s rated to last a full two days of heavy use and 45 days on standby and it’s able to act as a power bank to reverse charge other devices as needed.
The Shark 1 phablet is now available in Malaysia at all major online retailers like Lazada and 11Street in Modern Gold, Elegant Black and Satin Silver for RM999. For more details swing by Leagoo’s official website here.
