Lenovo debuts new pixel-crunching P40 and P410 ThinkPad workstations
Lenovo took the wraps off two hefty high-performing workstations – the ThinkPad P40 Yoga Mobile Worktation and the ThinkStation P410 Workstation desktop that are designed for professional use by architects, engineers and the like which offer scads of pixel crunching power capable of handling Autodesk’s 3D Design software.
ThinkPad P40 Yoga Mobile Workstation
The ThinkPad P40 Yoga is a portable notebook with their trademark flippable display that turns around and about to let you swap between tablet and notebook modes at will that weighs a relatively light 1.8kg. It comes in a variety of configurations though you can spec it all the way up to an Intel Core i7-6500U processor, your choice of anything from Windows 7 Professional all the way to Windows 10 Pro 64 as an OS, up to 16GB of RAM and up to a 256GB SSD.
The 1080P touchscreen is also tweaked by Wacom and is highly responsive, offering 2,048 levels of pressure sensititivty with the use of a stylus.The P40 Yoga is certified to run the gamut of professional applications including Autodesk CAD and CAE as well as being rated to mil-spec standards of durability given an average day to day usage scenario. A full bevy of ports that include a HDMI 1.4, a trio of USB 3.0 ports and a mini DisplayPort 1.2 cover all the bases. Prices start from RM5,999 depending on configuration inclusive of GST for the P40 Yoga.
The ThinkStation P410 Workstation
While it’s not as mobile as the P40 Yoga, this desktop-bound workstation comes with quite a bit of hardware under the hood. Crammed into a casing that’s about 17 inches high, 15 inches long and 7 inches deep is a selection of configurable hardware. Assuming cash is no object, you can spec it out with up to an Intel Xeon E5-1600 v4 processor, either Windows 10 Pro 64-bit or Linux, up to an NVIDIA Quadro M5000 GPU, a total of up to four drives with Flex module support. Prices start from RM4,999 for the base model and up.
