Lenovo rolls out latest generation of Legion series gaming rigs and desktops
Gaming aficionados looking to get a decisive edge in their hardware will appreciate the charms that Lenovo’s new range of Legion series notebooks and desktops have to offer. The range is spearhead by their exceptionally specced Legion Y920 gaming laptop that offers a huge 17.3-inch Full HD IPS matte display, a beefy Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor or an Intel i7-7820HK processor, up to 64GB DDR4 RAM, your choice of up to a 512GB /1TB dual PCie SSD RAID 0 array or a 1TB/2TB dual SATA hard disk in Raid 0 configuration.
Sound is pumped out by a beefed integrated audio array that consists of a pair of 2W JBL speakers and a 3W Dolby Atoms subwoofer. With the beefy specs that it offers, the Y920 is Oculus certified for VR experiences and the notebook also comes with a precision-engineered keyboard designed for gaming with individual RGB backlighting and a key travel of 2.2mm. Also launched is the Legion Y720 tower PC for gamers looking for a more desktop oriented gaming solution. Done up in a matte shade of black with the characteristic Y-shaped Legion logo, the desktop comes in multiple configurations with your choice of either an Intel Core i5-7400 processor or an Intel Core i7-7700 processor, either Windows 10 Pro or Home, your choice of either an AMD Radeon RX570 4GB or one of three NVIDIA cards – the GeForce GTX1050 Ti 4GB, the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB and GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SATA SSD along with a 2TB SATA HDD to handle your storage needs. Prices start from RM7,799 for the desktop itself depending on configuration.
Lenovo also showed off the Legion Y520 tower PC that retains the same aggressive aesthetics of the Legion-brand while clocking in at a more affordable price tag. It sports your choice of one of three processors – either an Intel Core i7-7700 or i5-7400 or an i3-7100 processor, your choice of one of three graphic cards – an AMD Radeon RX560, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 Ti or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060, up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and up to a 256GB PCIe SSD and a 2TB hard disk. Like the other Legion series notebooks and towers, the Legion Y520 can be configured in multiple variants with the entry level version retailing at RM4,999 not including other associated kit.
