The need for face masks when out and about isn’t so much an option as it is a matter of necessity in the new normal but donning one introduces a unique set of challenges like stuffiness when used for extended lengths of time and being difficult to be overhead in a conversation .

What is the LG PuriCare wearable air purifier

Significantly more sophisticated than a mere face mask, the LG PuriCare wearable air purifier is in fact a wearable air purifier.  It features a respiratory sensor built into the mask itself that is able to sense the user’s breathing and then intelligently adjusting an integrated pair of dual fans to adjust to the breathing cycle for easier, more comfortable breathing with an air flow control set to 10-55 LPM (Liters per minute). 

To ensure clean and breathable air, the design features a pair of replaceable HEPA H13 filters capable of filtering out 99.95% of dust, viruses and allergens as well as a hygienic swappable inner cover.

The innovative design of the LG PuriCare wearable air purifier doesn’t end there as it resolves the feeling of stuffiness when wearing a mask for hours and also tackles one of the biggest pet peeves for users wearing both glasses as it mitigates the effect of the lenses fogging over.

Another pernicious issue when wearing masks is that it tends to nix a huge set of social cues – you can’t see a person’s facial reactions bar their eyes along with having to deal with a muffled voice when talking.

The LG PuriCare wearable air purifier tackles these problems in a wonderfully direct fashion as it features a built-in VoiceON feature that integrates a microphone and a speaker that automatically turns on when you’re speaking to amplify a user’s voice.

While the LG Puricare wearable air purifier is durable and intended to last for a long time, it does have replaceable components with a changeable internal cover and HEPA filters, each of which can be swapped out when they wear out. A set of 60 inner face covers typically retails for RM106 while a set of 4 HEPA H13 filters retails for RM106.

All these features are powered by an integrated 1,000mAh battery, allowing for up to 8 hours of usage before needing a recharge. LG will also add in a companion app later in the year that allows a user to pair up their smartphone to the LG PuriCare to track their breathing.

LG PuriCare wearable air purifier preorder details in Malaysia

In Malaysia the LG PuriCare wearable air purifier is up for preorders from 20th to 31st August at special preorder prices. 

A special starter package that consists of the PuriCare wearable air purifier itself and 30 swappable inner-covers is available for RM749 versus its retail price of RM902.
There is also a Couple Package which has two PuriCare wearable air purifiers, 60 swappable inner-covers and 4 additional HEPA H13 filters for RM1,498 versus its retail price of RM1,910 which represents substantial savings especially if you’re using it over the long term.
