The Limited Edition P-51 RTR watch is literally made from a car
The Limited Edition P-51 RTR timepiece by REC watches stands out amongst watch aficionados as they are crafted from the refined carbon fiber chassis of man’s avatar to speed – the Mustang RTR though in the case of the limited edition version it’s specifically from renowned drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr’s personal ride, the Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang Ready-to-Rock (RTR).
The P-51 RTR features a raw carbon fiber dial hewn from the chassis of the Mustang RTR while the aluminium bezel itself is crafted from the steering shaft and forged carbon, which makes each and every piece unique.
The watch comes with a Miyota Cal.9130 movement and features a minute, second and hour hand, date along with a power reserve indicator akin to speedometer on the dial. The underside of the watch has a decorative rotor that aesthetically resembles a race wheel while the black calf leather straps are stitched with the numeral 25 as a reference to Gittin Jr’s Mustang RTR.
The Limited Edition P-51 RTR will be available starting from June 2018 in Malaysia for RM7,300 inclusive of GST at Red Army Watches outlets located at Pavilion KL, 1Utama mall, Gurney Plaza and mo.men.tum at Sunway Velocity mall. The watch is available in extremely limited numbers,understandably so as there’s only so much of the car left to turn into timepieces; there’s only 350 timepieces made and an extremely limited number have been allocated to Malaysia.
