Table of Contents
Intended for road warriors looking for exceptional portability and performance, the Prestige 13 Evo is a 13-inch laptop that has a 13.3-inch FHD+ (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) display with a tall 16:10 aspect ratio, a 60Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB display. The laptop will have a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1360P processor, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, Intel Iris Xe graphics, an NVMe M.2 SSD of undesignated size, a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports as well as a 4-cell 75WHr lithium polymer battery juiced by a 65W charging brick.
The laptop also has a pair of stereo 2W speakers, has a TPM 2.0 module and has an impressively light 990g carry weight and slim 16.9mm silhouette on account of being hewn from magnesium aluminium alloy. There’s no official price yet or availability in Malaysia but we’ll keep you posted
MSI Raider GE78 HX
Assuming money is no object and you have the clear intent to perform a ‘shock and awe’ campaign on the competition and everyone within five paces of you, the MSI Raider GE78 HX is the gaming laptop you need. On top of ludicrously powerful specifications that would run any game in the market, it also costs a whopping RM24,999 and up depending on configuration in Malaysia.
On top of the daunting price tag, the Raider GE78 HX has prominent kaleidoscopic RGB lighting across the front base of the SteelSeries keyboard tray as well as on the keyboard itself to quite possibly conduct your own personal rave.
In terms of hardware, you’re looking at a massive 17-inch QHD+ (2,560 x1,600 pixels) resolution display with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and a 240Hz refresh rate for serious gaming. Powering this behemoth is the latest 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13980HX processor paired with up to 64GB DDR5 RAM, features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 gaming laptop with 16GB GDDR6 vRAM and six speakers ( 2 x 2W drivers, 4 x 2W woofers) tuned by Dynaudio. Keeping it powered is a 99.9Whr Li-Polymer battery juiced by a 330W power brick. Additional mod-cons include a Thunderbolt 4 port, a DisplayPort, a USB Type-C port, a HDMI port as well as WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and a surprisingly modest 3kg carry weight.
MSI Cyborg 15
An interesting new addition to the line-up is the Cyborg 15 gaming laptop and while it won’t achieve sentience and attempt to overthrow humanity, it will let you play Warzone in a competent fashion for a relatively modest RM5,999 price of entry which is one of the cheapest laptops in their current line-up with an NVIDIA 40 series GPU.
The Cyborg 15 features a 15.6-inch 1080P display with a 144Hz refresh rate, uses a proven 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H CPU, has up to 16GB DDR5 RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 vRAM and has a pair of stereo speakers to kick out sound.
At present, the Cyborg 15 and Raider GE78 HX are both now available for sale in Malaysia though the Prestige 13 Evo A13M will arrive at a later date. For more details, check out MSI Malaysia’s official page at https://my.msi.com/
