New ASUS Zenbook 2022 line-up with 12th Gen Intel CPUs and more redefine the pinnacle of performance

ASUS has just taken the wraps off their latest Vivobook and Zenbook 2022 line-up that feature refreshed hardware with the new range featuring the latest 12th Gen Intel core H-series or AMD Ryzen 6000 H-series CPUs and more refined, slimmer and lighter form factors

This time around, the new Zenbook 2022 line-up features new models in their Zenbook S and Zenbook Pro 2022 series. In general, the Zenbook S and Zenbook Pro 2022 series feature a new look that ASUS has dubbed as ‘modern Zen’, feature the latest 12th Gen Intel Core H or AMD Ryzen 6000 H-series CPUs that offer up to 140W combined thermal design power (TDP) based on model and integrated improved cooling solutions for better extended performance including their Active Aerodynamic System Ultra (AAS Ultra) system for several  Zenbook variants for better cooling.

At launch, ASUS has only given the broad strokes of what configurations these new Zenbook variants will come in. There’s no word on RAM or storage configurations nor pricing or local availability just yet for the ASUS Zenbook 2022 line-up at the time of writing but we’ll keep you posted!

ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED 2022 (UX6702)

Intended as the top of the line model for the ASUS Zenbook 2022 line-up, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED is carved from a slab of 6000-series aerospace-grade aluminium into a 16.9mm thin chassis that weighs just 2.4kg while packing a terrifyingly powerful array of hardware for content creators.

Up front, you have a huge 16-inch 4K OLED HDR touchscreen display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 60Hz refresh rate, Dolby-Vision certification as well as PANTONE validation. The panel also enjoys 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut reproduction and has VESA DIsplayHDR True Black 500-certification, making it fantastic for content creators who rely on accurate colour rendition.

Much like the ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED we tested a while back, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 16X OLED features an ASUS Dial rotary dial control integrated into the design for precise use of selected Adobe apps.

You get a 12th Gen Intel Core i8-12900H CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU cooled by a pair of 97-blade IceBlade curved fans with the heat vented out through 5mm heat pipes out through the aforementioned AAS Ultra mechanism. This enables the laptop to run at a full 140W combined TDP in performance mode without throttling. 

As a pleasant bonus, the AAS Ultra also cants the keyboard at a more ergonomic 7-degrees for more efficient typing. The ZenBook Pro 16X OLED itself has a large 96Wh battery for extended endurance in the field. Here’s their official ZenBook Pro 16X OLED (UX7602) website here.

ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED (UX8402)

The next-generation successors to the earlier ZenBook Duo 14 aka model UX482, the upgraded Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED features an upgraded, more colour accurate 14.5-inch 2.8K 120Hz OLED display that’s Pantone validated and has 100% DCI-P3 and a larger, brighter secondary 12.7-inch ScreenPad Plus secondary touchscreen that’s also equipped with their AAS Ultra design to offer better ventilation and an enhanced typing experience.

The laptop is Intel Evo certified, features the new Intel Core i9-12900H CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU and up to an 85W combined TDP. The highly popular ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED aka model UX582 also gets an upgrade and upguns the CPU to a 12th Gen Intel COre i9-12900H CPU and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU. ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED (UP6502)

The ASUS ZenBook Pro range also gets a raft of upgrades with 14.5-inch and 16-inch clamshell form factors and a new 15.6-inch Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED UP6502 convertible laptop as well as a new and massive Zenbook Pro 17 UM6702 laptop that is the first 17.3-inch Zenbook.

The Zenbook Pro 15 Flip OLED (UP6502) has a 15.6-inch 2.8K 120Hz OLED touchscreen, has up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU, Arch A370M graphics and Harman Kardon tuned quad-speakers with Dolby Atmos audio.

Asus Zenbook 2022 – The new Zenbook Pro 17 UM6702 laptop is their largest Zenbook yet with a 17.3-inch display

The Zenbook Pro 17 has a 17.3-inch 2.5K IPS NanoEdge touchscreen with Pantone validation and a 165Hz refresh rate. Powering it is an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX CPU and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU. Zenbook S series

For those that covet portability, the Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED and the world’s lightest 13.3-inch OLED laptop, the Zenbook S13 OLED beckon. The convertible Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED has a 360-degree convertible hinge, weighs just 1.1kg and is 14.9mm thin while featuring 12th Gen Intel Core i7 CPUs, a 67Wh battery and a trio of fast Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports.

The Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED is just 14.9mm thin, weighs just 1kg and has an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U CPU with AMD Radeon 680M graphics and a rated 19-hours of battery life on the go.
