New Epson EcoTank printers launched in Malaysia

Most enterprises have gone paperless but hardcopy is still essential in many aspects of business though the costs of owning a printer tend to stack up after a while. Epson has heard the call and has launched their latest line-up of Epson EcoTank ink tank printers that aim to offer exceptionally low costs of ownership in almost every way.

Consisting of the L-series and M-series EcoTank ink printers, the new line-up consists of the new EcoTank M2140 monochrome printer, the EcoTank monochrome M1100/M1120 printer, the EcoTank L3110/L3150 and the EcoTank L5190 .  

One of the biggest refinements to the line is the incorporation of the ink tanks into the chassis of the EcoTank printers, offering a smaller, more compact footprint. Other refinements include a spill-free bottle design and bungle-proof reloading.

Epson EcoTank M2140, EcoTank M1120 and EcoTank M1100

Leading the entire line as its new flagship is the EcoTank M2140 monochrome printer which integrates Epson’s PrecisionCore printhead to offer up 20ipm print speeds and crisper prints at up to 1,200 x 2,400 dpi. The M2140 also has auto-duplex printing on top of the ability to scan and copy hardcopy, which makes it eminently useful for large and small businesses alike who need powerful performance in a small footprint.

In terms of yield, the EcoTank M2140 is capable of offering up to 6,000 pages of print before needing a reload, which costs RM31.10 for a reload. A reload of coloured ink retails at RM23.60 per bottle.

The EcoTank M1100 and M1120 mono printers are siblings to the M2140 but lack the ability to copy and scan, use a Piezoelectric printhead with the M1120 offering Wi-Fi direct printing while the M1100 is a more basic model that lacks Wi-Fi connectivity. The EcoTank M1100 retails for RM689 and the EcoTank M1120 retails for MR717.

Epson EcoTank L3110, Ecotank L3150 and Ecotank L5190

The Epson EcoTank L5190 multifunction offers the ability to print, scan, copy and fax. The L5190 uses a Piezoelectric printhead that alllows for up to 5,760 x 1,440 dpi resolution prints in colour or black and white as well as the ability to print out borderless 4R photos. The built-in scanner has an optical resolution of 1,200 x 2,400 dpi. There’s no price tag yet but the EcoTank L5190 is coming to Malaysia in February 2019.

The Epson EcoTank L3150 offers the ability to print, scan, copy and has Wi-Fi Direct connectivity with the ability to print 4R photos for RM699. The EcoTank L3110 is similar to the L3150 but lacks Wi-Fi Direct connectivity so you’ll have to rely on more traditional methods. The EcoTank L3150 retails for RM699 while the EcoTank L3110 retails for RM580.

The low cost of ownership is reflected across the line with a set of 4 ink bottles in the EcoTank L-series printers offering up 4,500 black and white pages of print and 7,500 colour pages before needing a reload with a coloured ink bottle retailing for just RM23.60.
