The new honor 7X is a widescreen stunner for RM1099
Teased earlier this month by honor, the new honor 7X is a midrange phone looks like quite a stunner when viewed in the proverbial flesh. The honor 7x made its official debut today at an official launch in Kuala Lumpur where they unveiled the phone to invited guests.
Hewn out of a unibody aluminium casing, the phone is a svelte 7.6mm thin and crams within it a 5.93-inch 18:9 aspect ratio display sheathed in 2.5d glass in keeping with recent trends in phone design. At first blush, the phone’s smoothly machined curves and even heft feel exceptionally good when held and the thin bezels and machined aluminium casing give it a pleasantly premium feel.
According to honor, they spent over 15 months and went through 28 prototypes before achieving its final form. The design of the honor 7x is unique in that each of the four corners of the phone have been reinforced and augmented with the phone equivalent of cushion zones to enhance survivability against drops.
The honor 7X’s FHD+ display is exceptionally crisp as well as it boasts of a 2,160 x 1080 pixel resolution with a sharp 401ppi density which ought to make it a treat when viewing movies and gaming.
Powering the honor 7x is their midrange HiSilicon Kirin 659 octacore processor that blends a quartet of Cortex A54 cores running at 2.36GHz and a quartet of 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 cores. This is paired with a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU.
While it comes in a number of different storage configurations, the honor 7X for Malaysia will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It will also run Android Nougat 7.0 with their EMUI 5.1 user interface overlaying it.
The rear comes with a now increasingly common dual camera array that’s set up as a 16-MP for handling the grunt work and a 2-MP secondary camera for tackling depth of field shots. It also has the obligatory LED flash for low light shots. Just below the rear camera is a rounded fingerprint sensor. The front comes with an 8-MP selfie camera and both front and rear are able to capture 1080P video.
Charging the honor 7X’s 3,340mAh battery is via a micro USB port at the base flanked by a speaker grille and a 3.5mm audio jack. For Malaysia, the honor 7x will retail for RM1099 in either blue or black starting from 22 December 2017.
