New Samsung Smart Hub in their QLED 2022 TV line-up will have enhanced emphasis on gaming and health
Samsung’s latest Unbox and Discover live stream revealed their latest Neo QLED 8K TV line-up for 2022 and, in particular, the technologies that offer better, crisper, more realistic images than ever before though that’s not their only focus as they have a renewed emphasis on their revamped Samsung Smart Hub user interface too which has new features aplenty.
What is the revamped Samsung Smart Hub about
Most of the time, the user interface of smart TVs are typically tacked on as an afterthought but the revamped Samsung Smart Hub that’s built on their own Tizen firmware and deployed on their new Neo QLED 8K TV 2022 line-up makes it just as important as the hardware underlying it.
The new‘ Smart Hub’ experience revolves around a revamped tabbed home screen that allows for immediate, easy access to settings and connected devices as well as content be it media or games. There is also an ambient setting somewhat similar to Samsung’s The Frame ‘art’ TVs which displays art onscreen as wallpaper to ensure your crib looks suitably classy.
To act as a central IoT hub, Samsung Smart Hub integrates their SmartThings feature to control other devices like Samsung soundbars and other appliances all from the TV itself so you can see all your connected home hardware at a glance.
One of the key cornerstone tabs in the revamped Samsung Smart Hub is understandably Media which neatly organises all of a user’s available video on demand accounts, streaming content and the 190-plus free channels on Samsung TV Plus into one menu with AI learning your preferences and suggesting content across platforms for viewing.
Next up, the Samsung Smart Hub pays more emphasis on gaming with a new Gaming Hub that offers an array of games that are playable on the Samsung Gaming Hub tab within the Samsung Smart Hub. Samsung has also announced team-ups with NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Stadia and Utomik to bring their game libraries to the Gaming Hub.
On that note, Samsung has also beefed up the Neo QLED 8K TV’s hardware especially for gaming with four HDMI 2.1 ports, 144Hz 4K Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro tech for smoother frame rates and a Super Ultrawide GameView for good measure.
Another important feature in the new Samsung Smart Hub is the inclusion of Samsung Health that offers a slew of workout and wellness classes for fitness levels of every sort from couch potato to Olympic athlete. It also integrates with their Galaxy Watch4 series for real-time fitness tracking.
One particular unusual addition to the new Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs and Smart Hub is the ability to act as an NFT display gallery. In a team-up with Nifty Gateway, the Samsung NFT Platform on Smart Hub allows consumers a one-stop NFT platform to purchases and display collected NFT art. There’s no official word yet on when the new Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs will arrive in Malaysia yet but we’ll keep you posted.
