Awesome Nikon Z8 full frame mirrorless camera now in Malaysia with prices from RM18,338

The Nikon Z8 full-frame mirrorless camera is now officially available in Malaysia. The successor to the prior Z9, the new Nikon Z8 is 30% smaller with a classic form factor while also being lighter in the bargain at just 910g with a bevy of enhanced upgrades and features.

Aesthetically speaking, the Nikon Z8 has a silhouette akin to a traditional full frame camera but is markedly lighter, weighing in at 910g on account of liberal use of magnesium alloy and carbon fibre in its design while also featuring weather proofing for work in extreme weather along with support for Z-mount and F-mount Nikkor lenses to offer maximum creative possibilities.

The new Nikon Z8 features a full-frame 45.7MP stacked CMOS sensor with the ability to capture up to 8K@60p videos in N-RAW or 8K@30p video in Apple ProRes 422 HQ, H.265 or H.264 formats. Alternatively, the camera can capture 4K video at up to 120fps.  In terms of stills, the Nikon Z8 also supports HLG (HEIF) format with an option for 10-bit still images for better tonal gradation.

Much like the earlier Z9, the new Z8 uses a nimbler electronic shutter. Of note is a Pre-Release capture mode that records up to 1 second before a user presses the shutter release and 4 seconds after it is pressed to ensure it gets the money shot.

To ensure steadier stills, the Nikon Z8 features in-body Vibration Reduction (VR) stabilisation tech that achieves an effect equivalent to a shutter speed of 6.0 stops while videos rely on Electronic VR.

In terms of layout, the Nikon Z8 has a rear-mounted 4-axis vertical/horizontal tiltable 3.2-inch 2,100K rear touchscreen display as well as an electronic viewfinder (EVF) that features 3.69 million pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera also has two USB ports with one solely for charging and the other for data transfer for added reliability.
