Nothing Phone 3a series launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM1,699
Following on from the success of their Nothing 2a series, phone brand Nothing has rolled out their new Nothing 3a and Nothing 3a Pro in Malaysia that retain their signature white-LED Glyph backlit chassis and sleek design.
What is the Nothing Phone 3a Pro and 3a?
The Nothing Phone 3a Pro is naturally the more powerful of the two phones and has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a FHD+ (1080 x 2,392 pixels) resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+ content while offering 3,000 nits peak brightness. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 7s Gen3 processor running Android 15 with Nothing OS 3 paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage for units sold in Malaysia. There are also additional rear Glyph lighting patterns on the rear and the addition of a customisable Essential key shortcut – a long-press records a voice note, a double-tap heads straight to saved content and a single press sends content to their Essential Space.
The rear hosts a triple camera array that features a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 50MP f/2.6 periscope camera that offers 3x telephoto zoom paired with OIS and an 8MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera. Up front, the Nothing Phone 3a Pro has a single 50MP f/2.2 selfie camera for videocalls and mugshots.
Keeping the phone powered is a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired charging that’s rated for a full charge in just 56 minutes or a 50% charge in just 19 minutes. Available colourways for the Nothing 3a Pro consist of either Black or Gray while retaining an IP64 dust and splashproof rating.
The base Nothing Phone 3a has a similar 6.77-inch AMOLED 120Hz FHD+ display as the 3a Pro and runs on the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 along with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage while retaining the same 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired fast charging.
The rear triple camera array visually differs with a bar-shaped setup and also has a slightly different set of cameras. WHile the primary 50MP f/1.9 main camera with OIS and the 8MP ultra wide camera remain the same, the 50MP telephoto camera has been altered to a more conventional design with just 2X zoom. Another key difference is that the front selfie camera uses a slightly smaller 32MP.
Nothing Phone 3a series Malaysia price and preorder details
In Malaysia, the Nothing Phone 3a is available in Black, White and Blue with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for RM1,699. The higher end Nothing Phone 3a Pro can be acquired in Grey and Black with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for RM1,999. Preorders commence for the Nothing Phone 3a on 8 March 2025 and general availability on 22 March 2025.
