OPPO A9 2020 arrives in Malaysia with quad cameras and huge 5,000mAh battery

Malaysians shopping for a midrange smartphone have another new offering to add to their comparison list as the OPPO A9 2020 has finally landed in Malaysia with a massive battery and display combined with a humongous 5,000mAh battery to let you snap and game away well until the cows come home.

In terms of specifications, the OPPO A9 2020 has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a teardrop shaped notch up top for the 16-MP selfie camera. Under the hood, the phone sports a Snapdragon 665 processor with 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The rear consists of a primary 48-MP camera, an 8-MP camera with an ultra-wide angle lens, a 2-MP mono lens and a 2-MP camera with a portrait lens.

Keeping the whole affair powered is a 5,000mAh battery juiced by a USB Type-C port though there does not seem to be any fast charging support. Of note with the OPPO A9 2020 is the inclusion of dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support along with a 3.5mm audio jack in the base.

If your pockets aren’t as deep, you can opt for its vastly more affordable sibling the OPPO A5 2020 that is externally and, for the most part, internally identical with a similar HD+ display and Snapdragon 665 processor but instead comes with 3GB RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a lower end 8-MP front-facing selfie camera and a more modest rear quad-camera array with a primary 12-MP camera as the centrepiece versus the A9’s 48-MP primary camera. The OPPO A5 will retail for just RM699.
