Oppo Find X9 Pro Review – Beautiful Design Meets Hasselblad Imaging Excellence

Launched a few weeks ago, the Oppo Find X9 Pro crams in the latest flagship-grade Dimensity 9500 chipset from MediaTek along with a camera setup created in collaboration with imaging veteran Hasselblad to give it serious imaging chops and potent performance. 

We managed to get our hands on a unit for assessment and after taking it for a spin, here’s our Oppo Find X9 Pro review where we share if it’s the ultimate mix of camera and phone and whether it’s worth your money.

Oppo Find X9 Pro review – Design and Specifications

Launched alongside its sibling the Oppo Find X9, the Find X9 Pro has a slightly larger display, a higher quality selfie camera and a better rear camera setup with an upgunned telephoto zoom camera as well as a larger battery for a higher price point. Both designs rely on the same flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset that was recently launched in late 2025.

In terms of build and design, our Oppo Find X9 Pro review sample adheres to the popular tenets of contemporary flagship smartphone design with a flat backplate and flat display with the chassis featuring rounded corners  that lend it a stylish look. 

The backplate of the phone comes in a matte white shade of Silk White that resists fingerprints nicely though it is a bit on the slippery side with the rear cameras housed in a raised, square-shaped camera housing. A wireless charging coil is inset in the lower quadrant. If Silk White doesn’t float your boat, the Oppo Find X9 Pro can also be acquired in a darker greyish shade of Titanium Charcoal.

 

The right side of the phone comes with a power button and volume rocker along with a Quick button that acts as a shortcut for immediate access to the camera, the voice recorder or flashlight. The top is otherwise unremarkable with the base featuring the customary USB-C port, a speaker grille and a SIM card tray.

Up front, Oppo has lavished the Oppo Find X9 Pro with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display that features bezels that are just 1.15mm thin all around and which is slightly larger than its more affordable sibling the Find X9. 

On paper, the display on our Oppo Find X9 Pro review sample  is impressive, with a respectable 1,272 x 2,772 pixels resolution, a 1-120Hz refresh rate, 3,600 nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 2,160Hz PWM dimming.

It’s also able to support HDR10+ content and also has Dolby Vision and HDR Vivid support as well. Inset in a punch hole up top is a single 50MP selfie camera with autofocus while a tiny slit hides an ear piece which  also functions as a speaker. The lower quadrant of the display also hosts an Ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

Overall build quality is excellent and the phone has an IP66, IP68 and IP69 rating, rendering it resistant to dust ingress and immersion in about 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. It is also able to resist high-pressure water jets in the unlikely event you encounter them. The screen is also protected by protective glass though Oppo hasn’t mentioned what specific type.

Belying its 8.25mm thinness, the phone packs a massive 7,500mAh battery which is among the largest ever used in a flagship phone while retaining an even heft and excellent ergonomics that allow for comfortable one-handed use.

As an added measure of value, our Oppo Find X9 Pro review sample for the Malaysia market ships with a free snap-on protective case as well as a fast charger along with the accompanying USB-C cable and a SIM eject pin.

Oppo Find X9 Pro review – Performance and Benchmarks

Befitting its role as a flagship smartphone, our Oppo Find X9 Pro review unit comes equipped with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor that is intended to go toe to toe with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset that equips several of the latest generation flagship phones released in the last few weeks. Rather than a purely hardware-level solution,

Oppo has also implemented their Trinity Engine, a chip-level resource level solution that optimises power consumption and offers sustained high performance under heavy loads. 

That’s not all, the Dimensity 9500 is also complemented by a vapour chamber that has a 36,344.4mm² dissipation area; this is approximately 37% larger than the one used in the previous Oppo Find X8 for better heat management. On top of the chipset, Oppo has kitted out the phone with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1GB storage.

Other RAM/storage configurations exist but Malaysia gets this particular configuration only. Running under the hood is the latest Android 16 with ColorOS 16. Here’s how our Oppo Find X9 Pro review unit stacks up on paper:

When subjected to synthetic benchmarks with 12GB of virtual RAM off the onboard storage, our Oppo Find X9 Pro review sample scored the following:

When compared alongside the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 used in recent phones like the Honor Magic8 Pro and the realme GT 8 Pro, the Dimensity 9500 SoC in our Oppo Find X9 Pro review unit gives a run for its money and compares favourably with Qualcomm’s premier chipset in single, multicore and graphics performance across the board with the Dimensity 9500 edging out in graphics-heavy benchmarks.

In practical field tests, the Find X9 Pro acquitted itself in an admirable fashion, handling demanding video editing tasks in CapCut and also demanding gaming on Genshin Impact and Call of Duty Mobile on high settings without issue. Needless to say, conventional tasks like web browsing, word processing and the like with heavy multitasking were handled in a gratifyingly smooth fashion.

Seeing the impetus towards AI these days, the phone has a comprehensive array of Google-issued AI features including the usual Circle to Search, Gemini AI assistant and a smattering of Oppo’s own flavour of AI-assisted features including an AI Writer that helps you write short bits of text, an AI Speak that helps you read text onscreen in case you’re distracted and can’t see the display and AI Translate to translate bits of text.

This is on top of the usual AI photo editing that Oppo has honed over the last couple of years like their AI Eraser to erase unwanted parts of a photo, AI Recompose to reframe a shot and extrapolate detail when you do so and AI Perfect Shot to ensure everyone in a group shot has their eyes open.

When it comes to colour rendition, detail and sharpness, the display used in our Oppo Find X9 Pro review sample is among the best, with vibrant hues, deep blacks and pin-sharp text. While it isn’t the brightest display for viewing outdoors under sunlight compared to other competing flagships, it’s more than sufficient to get the job done and content is still viewable.

The provided stereo speakers offer a decent job with good detail and volume, offering serviceable enough performance for casual music and Netflix watching duties. 

The 2,160Hz PWM dimming and eye care features, in particular the ability to filter out blue light also make the display a bit more comfortable to use and see for extended periods of time. 

Where the Find X9 Pro impresses is its battery life, offering a comfortable two days worth of normal usage including some light gaming and liberal usage of social media with PC Mark’s battery life test yielding a very respectable 28 hours and 37 minutes of usage. Charging it is a relatively fast affair too with the 90W SuperVOOC charging allowing the phone to get a full charge from dead zero in about an hour and 15 minutes off the bundled charger.

Oppo Find X9 Pro review – Cameras

On the imaging front, the Oppo Find X9 Pro aims to dial everything to 11 with the telephoto camera upgraded to a 200MP f/2.1 sensor with 3x optical zoom thanks to a Hasselblade-certified lens array alongside the 50MP f/1.6 main camera that also has OIS and the 50MP f/2.0 ultra wide angle camera. 

Augmenting the rear triple camera setup is what Oppo refers to as a True Color Camera sensor that leverages a 2MP 8-channel spectral sensor with  2 million spectral pixels to ensure accurate colour reproduction across the board from scenery to skin tones alike.  Up front, the phone has a single 50MP f/2.0 camera with autofocus for selfies and mugshots.

The Oppo Find X9 Pro also has an optional telephoto extender lens accessory that comes with a special snap-on case that further extends the telephoto zoom of the rear camera array though we weren’t able to acquire one at the time of writing to test with the phone.

According to Oppo, the Find X9 Pro is able to capture full-resolution 50MP images over the usual pixel-binned 12MP shots from competing phones.

On paper, the rear camera array is capable of up to a whopping 120x zoom for shots and offers up to 4K@120fps video capture with both front and rear cameras capable of a more practical 4K@60fps video with the option to capture video in Log format for more accurate colour grading in post production.

In field tests, our Oppo Find X9 Pro review sample offered excellent colours and detail in both daylight and low light conditions out to 6X zoom with viewable shots at maximum 120x zoom for general scenery shots like large buildings and the like.

Oppo claims that you can get lossless zoom out to 13.2x zoom with a combination of the lenses and computational photography; results in this regard look their best in daylight conditions. Selfie shots are among the best on test, with good skin tones and detail.

In regards to video quality, the rear cameras offer stable footage, evening out a normal gait to a smooth panning consistency while offering vibrant and detailed footage in both daylight and low light conditions. 

Even without the lens extender accessory, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is a solid generalist that’s able to deliver good footage and stills alike for the majority of common subjects from portraiture to scenery and food.

Should you buy the Oppo Find X9 Pro?

The Oppo Find X9 Pro is a beautifully appointed, stylish looking flagship phone that offers excellent performance, a great display, superb battery life and excellent imaging performance for stills and videos from both the front and rear cameras.
