OPPO R15 Pro is coming to Malaysia
The limelight is currently on OPPO’s latest wunderkind, the selfie-centric F7 though those looking for a more powerful camphone will likely appreciate what OPPO will be bringing in next week – the OPPO R15 Pro.
Also dubbed as the Dream Mirror edition in certain other regional markets, the R15 Pro has a huge 6.28-inch OLED display up front with 2,280 x 1080 pixel resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio that comes with the now voguish notch which has a 20-MP f/2.0 selfie camera up front. Of note is that the phone uses their ‘Sensor HDR’ tech to make backlit selfies, usually a challenging prospect to take, appear crisp and clear. The front selfie camera also has a 3D lighting mode that allows for portrait snaps that look professionally lit. Sweet.
The phone runs Android Oreo 8.1 overlaid with their COLOR OS user interface on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. To keep things running along at a suitably nippy pace, it comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage as standard.
Where it aims to top the competition though is that it has a rear dual camera array using Sony IMX519 sensors with one 20-MP f/1.7 camera paired with a secondary 16-MP f/1.7 camera. This is augmented by an AI algorithm that can pick the right scene modes depending on what you shoot. The AI also intelligently beautifies portraits depending on gender.
If that’s got you chuffed, you’ll be glad to know that the OPPO R15 Pro is rolling in this 24 May 2018 to Malaysia in your choice of two rather spiffy looking colours – a Cosmic Purple or a deep Ruby Red though they haven’t mentioned how much they will retail for as yet or what special preorder details will come with OPPO’s latest phone. Stay tuned for more details.
