Oppo Reno 13 series launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM1,399

Oppo Malaysia expanded their line-up of midrange Reno-series phones to kick off the new year with the debut of their Oppo Reno 13 series which consists of the Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G, the Reno 13 5G and the Reno 13 F 5G which all notable include AI capabilities as well as a robust IP69 rating with optimised underwater photography capabilities.

What makes all three phones unique is the inclusion of an IP69 dust and water resistance which adds in the ability to withstand high pressure jets of water on top of the ability to survive in fresh water for up to 2 meters for 30 minutes at a time along with a specialised Underwater photography mod as well as a drainage mode to rapidly vent water away from the phone.

The new Oppo Reno 13 series range consists of the Oppo Reno 13 (left), Oppo Reno 13 Pro (centre) and Oppo Reno 13 F (right), alal of which have IP69 and a special underwater camera mode with Gemini assistant.

The new Oppo Reno 13 range also notable have a number of AI features including an AI Eraser to remove unwanted parts of an image, an AI LinkBoost 2.0 to ensure a more stable connectivity especially when gaming, an AI Motion feature that transforms stills into three second videos as well as the inclusion of a new Tap-to-Share mode to share content from the phone to an iPhone.

Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G specifications

The top of the line Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G comes with a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz Infinite View OLED display that has HDR10+ support and protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, features the Mediatek Dimensity 8350 chipset built on a 4nm process, packs 16GB RAM with 512GB storage and has a 5,800mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge fast charging as well as 50W wireless charging. The phone also has stereo speakers.

On the imaging front the Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G comes with a triple camera array that consists of a 50MP F/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 50MP F/2.8 telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and an 8MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera while the front has a single 50MP F/2.0 camera for selfies and video calls with up to 4K video capture capabilities.

Oppo Reno 13 5G specifications

The more affordable Oppo Reno 13 has a slightly smaller 6.59-inch 120Hz OLED display that is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, runs on the same Mediatek Dimensity 8350 processor, comes with 12GB RAM and either 512GB or 256GB storage while packing a slightly smaller 5,600mAh battery with 80W wired charging but which lacks the wireless charging support of the Pro model. Like the Pro model, this variant also packs stereo speakers.

In terms of cameras, the Oppo Reno 13 5G has a similar 50MP F/1.8 main camera with OIS but has a simpler setup with an 8MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor while the front keeps the 50MP F/2.0 selfie camera that’s cable to take 4K video.

Oppo Reno 13 F 5G specifications

The entry level Oppo Reno 13 F 5G has a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display with 2,400 x 1080 pixels resolution but that uses a different grade of protective glass on the display, features the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, has three storage configurations with either 12G bor 8GB RAM and up to 512GB and unlike its larger siblings, has a microSD card to expand storage as needed.

Like the Pro model, this variant also has stereo speakers. Like its siblings, the Reno 13 F 5G also has a set of stereo speakers. Keeping the phone powered is a 5,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging.

The camera setup for the Oppo Reno 13 F 5G consists of a similar setup as the Oppo Reno 13 5G with a 50MP F/1.8 main camera with OIS, an 8PM ultra wide angle camera and a 2MP macro camera though the front selfie camera is a bit more modest 32MP F/2.4 camera.

Oppo Reno 13 series price and preorder

The Oppo Reno 13 series is available for preorders from now until 10 January 2025 with up to an RM200 rebate and free gifts worth up to RM2,266. The Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G with 12GB RAM/ 512GB storage is priced at RM2,999.

In the case of the Oppo Reno 13 5G, the 12GB RAM/512GB storage variant will retail at RM2,599 while the 12GB RAM/256GB storage version will go for RM2,299.

The Oppo Reno 13 5G has three variants with 12GB RAM/ 512GB storage variant priced at RM1,799, the 12GB RAM/256GB storage variant for RM1,499 and the base 8GB RAM/256GB variant for RM1,399.
