OPPO Reno6 5G series now on preorder in Malaysia with up to RM779 in free gifts

OPPO Malaysia has just announced that their latest camera-centric smartphones, the Reno6 Z 5G and Reno6 5G are now up for preorder in Malaysia with up to RM779 in free gifts in a live streamed launch online.

OPPO Reno6 Z 5G Specifications

The OPPO Reno6 Z 5G features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution paired with a modest 60Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor, a MediaTek MT6853 Dimensity 800U 5G processor paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. Naturally, the phone supports 5G connectivity and of note is that the Reno 6 Z 5G has a novel RAM Expansion feature which lets you utilise up to 5GB of onboard storage as RAM.

On the rear, the OPPO Reno6 Z 5G sports a triple camera array built around a main 64MP camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP macro camera while selfies and video calls are tackle by a front-facing 32MP selfie camera located in a tiny punch hole in the upper left corner of the screen. One of the key features to the Reno6 Z 5G is the inclusion of a Bokeh Flare Portrait that utilises AI-algorithms to create cinematic quality bokeh effects in real time. The phone also has a Dual View Video mode that lets users use both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

Keeping it powered is a 4,310mAh battery that has 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 via a USB-C port. In terms of pricing, it’s available for RM1,699 and comes in either Aurora or Stellar Black.

OPPO Reno6 5G Specifications

In the case of the OPPO Reno6 5G, the phone has a similarly sized 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor but ups the refresh rate to a smoother 90Hz. It also features a beefier Snapdragon 720G processor with 5 G connectivity paired with a similar 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. Like its sibling, it also has their RAM Expansion feature as needed.

The rear features a similar 64MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, the phone features a 32MP selfie camera. Of note is that the Reno6 5G has an AI Highlight Video mode that detects ambient light and optimises video capture accordingly based on ambient lighting. It also has a similar Bokeh Flare Portrait mode as the Reno6 Z 5G.

Keeping it powered is a 4,300mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging. In Malaysia, the Reno 6 will ship in either Aurora or Stellar Black for RM2,399.

The preorder programme for the OPPO Reno6 Z 5G and Reno6 5G is ongoing until 13th August 2021.
