Externally, the bigger 46mm OPPO Watch integrates slightly more premium materials with a mix of metal and ceramic along with 5ATM water resistance while the smaller 41mm version is primarily made of metal and has slightly less 3ATM water resistance.
The larger 46mm OPPO Watch uses a unique 3D Flexible Dual-Curved edge display measuring at 1.91-inches diagonal with a 402 x 476 pixel resolution and a crisp 326ppi. What this means is that the side edges dip down much in the manner of a few popular flagship smartphone touchscreens of recent vintage; it admittedly does look stylistically attractive and novel.
The smaller 41mm OPPO Watch also uses what they call a ‘rigid’ 1.6-inch AMOLED display which looks much like a conventional flat smartwatch display and has a slightly lower 320 x260 pixel resolution.
Screen size aside, the OPPO Watch series, both the 46mm and 41mm run on a Snapdragon 3100 chipset & Ambiq Micro Apollo 3 Wireless SoC paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB of built-in storage. There’s WiFi and Blutetooth but much like many smartwatches in Malaysia, the OPPO Watch series lacks LTE connectivity.
The inclusion of Android Wear OS for the OPPO Watch means that you can download additional apps via the Google Play Store optimised for smartwatches along with Google Assistant support. Naturally, both watches have an underside-mounted heart rate sensor and fitness as well as sleep tracking functionality.
Battery life for the larger 46mm watch is rated for up to 36 hours in Smart Mode and 21 days in Power Saver mode while the smaller 41mm version has less endurance; it is rated for just a full day – 24 hours – in Smart Mode and up to 14 days in Power Saver mode.
Charging either watch takes 75 minutes to get it to full via OPPO’s Watch VOOC Flash Charging while a 15 minute charge is able to get you 46%.
