Razer Project Sophia and the Enki Pro Hypersense are the ultimate WFH desk and chair setup from the future
CES 2022 is certainly full of surprises and Razer’s Project Sophia is a breathtaking glimpse of the future as it dials the concept of a gaming desk to 11 while the new Razer Enki Pro Hypersense is a new gaming chair design with haptic feedback.
What is Razer Project Sophia and the Enki Pro Hypersense
Essentially, Project Sophia is the framework for a gaming desk where you can plonk components in and out with up to 13 supported modules at a time that let you configure the gaming desktop for any mission profile while the desk frame itself is lined with a series of RGB LEDs and an integrated 65-inch or 77-inch OLED display.
The core of Project Sophia is a customised circuit board that include, according to Razer, the latest Intel CPU and NVIDIA GPUs with the modules ranging from touchscreen digitisers, a THX Surround Sound system, high refresh rate monitors, cameras, microphones, streaming controls, wireless chargers, a productivity hotkey module and – get this – a cup warmer.
What this means is that Project Sophia can be tweaked to fit the needs of almost any type of user be it a spreadsheet jockey, a live streamer, a gamer or anything in between. Naturally, as it’s still a concept design, Project Sophia may not even get made at all and at this stage is purely a proof of concept design.
In the case of the Enki Pro Hypersense, it’s an upgunned gaming chair with a D-BOX tuned haptic feedback unit and a Chroma RGB headrest with both offering native support for over 2,200 games in order to deliver a more visceral, tactile experience. It’s not just for gaming either as the haptic feedback support also extends to music and movies too.
According to Razer, the haptic feedback unit is capable of delivering +/- 1 G-force, up to 1.5-inches of upwards and backwards tilt and over 65,000 haptic variations with a 5ms response time to offer superb tactility.
That aside, it has a 22-inch wide seat, 100-degree shoulder arches and a built-in lumbar arch. Unfortunately there’s no price or release dates as yet for the Enki Pro Hypersense but we’ll keep you lot posted.
