realme GT 8 Pro Malaysia launch – prices start from RM4,299 with RM1,197 in free gifts

The realme GT 8 Pro has just been launched in Malaysia and features the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with a Ricoh GR camera system that has a unique Ricoh GR mode for fast street photography. Preorders have commenced from now till 28 November 2025 and offer up to RM1,197 in free gifts with the phone priced from RM4,299. There is also a limited edition realme GT 8 Pro Dream edition for RM4,699 that has the same specs as the standard models but a distinctive green colourway.

With the debut of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset comes an array of flagship-grade hardware with the realme GT 8 Pro being realme’s flagship offering featuring the new chipset. Intended as the successor to last year’s realme GT 7 Pro, the new realme GT 8 Pro notably hosts a camera system designed in collaboration with Ricoh GR. A more affordable realme GT 8 also exists but it will likely arrive in Malaysia at a later date.

The realme GT 8 Pro Malaysia specs consist of a top-shelf 6.79-inch AMOLED display that pushes QHD+ resolution (3,136 x 1,440 pixels) while featuring a 140Hz refresh rate and up to 7,000 nits peak brightness.

Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Keeping the phone powered is a 7,000mAh battery with fast 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. 

Of note with the realme GT 8 Pro is that it is the first phone ever to have swappable camera covers that you can screw on to somewhat alter the look of the phone. The chassis is also rated for IP66, IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance and includes Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the display from nicks and scratches.

The main draw here is that the realme GT 8 Pro is the first phone with a camera system created in collaboration with Ricoh GR with a special Ricoh GR mode that has five special photo modes with two of the modes featuring a standard and high contrast black and white mode.

In terms of hardware, the rear triple camera Ricoh GR camera system comes with a 200MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom, a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra wide angle camera. Up front, you have a single 32MP camera for selfies. Both the telephoto and main camera feature optical image stabilisation and the rear camera setup is able to capture up to 8K@30fps video.

In terms of availability, the realme GT 8 Pro is available in your choice of Diary White, blue and a special limited edition Aston Martin green variant that costs a bit more. Preorders have commenced and are ongoing from now till 28 November 2025 for the phone with RM1,197 in free gifts if you preorder the phone.

In Malaysia, you only get the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant in blue or white available priced at RM4,299 while the limited edition realme GT 8 Pro Dream Edition in green is priced at RM4,699. Both the standard and Dream editions are eligible to enjoy  up to RM1,197 in free gifts when preordering either design in Malaysia.
