Tough new REDMI Note 15 series launched in Malaysia with prices starting from RM799

Xiaomi has officially launched their REDMI Note 15 series in Malaysia that blend premium camera performance, exceptional durability, solid endurance and modest prices. Consisting of the REDMI Note 15 base model in 4G and 5G variants, the REDMI Note 15 Pro and the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G, the new line-up consists of a total of four phones, all of which feature hardware and software that has been built to last.

Of note with the REDMI Note 15 series is an extended 2- year warranty that includes screen and battery protection coverage along with industry -leading drop and water resistance along with extended battery life. The entire line-up also gets 4 years of OS updates and a whopping 6 years of security updates which are impressive by any measure of the word.

What is the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G?

In terms of hardware, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G has a drop-resistant chassis that has IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance that hosts a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 3,200 nits peak brightness and which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. 

Running under the hood, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G packs a reliable Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, 12GB RAM and either 512GB or 256GB of storage. The phone also features a 200MP Ultra-clarity main camera which has OIS and lossless 4X optical level zoom, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra wide angle camera and a front-facing 32MP selfie camera for video calls and mugshots. 

Keeping the whole affair powered is a 6,500mAH battery that has 100W HyperCharge wired charging as well as reverse wireless charging with your choice of Mocha Brown, Black and Glacier Blue.

In Malaysia ,the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G with 256GB will retail for RM1,699 while the 12GB RAM / 512GB storage version retails for RM1,899.

What is the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G and REDMI Note 15 and REDMI Note 15 5G?

Slightly lower down the totem pole but no less capable is the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G which has similar drop, water and dust resistance as the Pro+ model with a similar 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 3,200 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Where it differs is that it uses a Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor with 8GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage as well as a slightly larger 6,580mAh battery with 45W wired charging and reverse wireless charging.

For imaging duties, the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G has a similar layout as the Plus variant with a 200MP main camera and an 8 MP ultra wide angle camera on the rear though the front-facing selfie camera has been swapped out for a more affordable 20MP selfie camera.

In terms of pricing, the REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage retails for RM1,399 while the 8GB RAM/512GB model retails for RM1,599. The Pro and the Pro+ will be available on preorder until 21 January and have a 22 January 2026 street date. 

 

Of note is that the Pro and Pro+ model have a double storage promotion, where you effectively get the 512GB storage model for the price of the 256GB variant. The Pro+ and Pro model also gets a free REDMI Pad SE 8.7-inch tablet and cover worth RM748 along with the free storage upgrade.

At the bottom of the totem pole is the base REDMI Note 15 and the REDMI Note 15 5G. Both devices feature a similar 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display that has a peak 3,200 nits brightness and a 120hz refresh rate. Where both models differ is in terms of what processor they have, their battery capacities and their cameras.

The REDMI Note 15 packs a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor, uses a 6,000mAh battery with 33W wired charging and features a 108MP main rear camera with a 2MP depth sensor and a front facing 20MP selfie camera. The 5G-enabled variant uses a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 CPU and has a smaller 5,520mAh silicon-carbon battery with 45W wired charging as well as a 20MP front selfie camera and a rear 108MP camera paired with an 8MP ultra wide camera.

In terms of pricing, the REDMI Note 15 is an online exclusive that only comes with 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage priced at RM799. The 5G-enabled variant is available from 16 January onwards with the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant priced at RM849 and the higher end 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant priced at RM949. Customers who purchase the tablet the REDMI Note 15 5G from now until 28 February gets a free Xiaomi Sound Pocket speaker worth RM69.
