Samsung Galaxy A24 offers rear triple camera with OIS and huge 5,000mAh battery for RM999
The new Samsung Galaxy A24 has just landed in Malaysia that aims to further fine-tune their winning blend of price, performance and value for their popular midrange Galaxy A series phones. With a price just under RM999, the Galaxy A24 brings a lot to the table including a large 90Hz Super AMOLED display, a huge battery and a rear camera with OIS but that’s just scratching the surface of what it has to offer.
The new Galaxy A24 sits just above the baseline Galaxy A14 that was launched a couple of weeks back and just below the Galaxy A34 that we reviewed awhile back though the Galaxy A54 still rules the roost as the most powerful midrange Galaxy A series phone in Malaysia for now.
In terms of hardware, the Galaxy A24 has a slightly smaller 6.5-inch but higher quality Super AMOLED touchscreen with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate compared to the LCD used in the smaller Galaxy A14. While it’s also relegated to 4G LTE like its sibling the A14 – you’ll need to get the A34 and A54 if you want 5G connectivity – the Galaxy A24 does have a slightly faster Mediatek MT8781 Helio G99 octacore processor that runs the latest Android 13 and EMUI 5.1.
Paired with the Helio G99 CPU is 8GB RAM with 8GB of additional virtual RAM off the on-board storage as well as 128GB of expandable storage via a micro SD card slot.
The rear hosts a 50MP F/1.8 camera with OIS, a secondary 5MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP macro camera while the front hosts a 13MP selfie camera. Keeping the Galaxy A24 powered is a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging.
