Samsung rolls out Galaxy A31 with quad cameras and huge 5,000mAh battery for RM1,099
Samsung is best known for their flagship superheavies that trump all comers with cutting-edge power and performance like the Galaxy S20 Ultra but their A-series phones make for solid workhorses too and they’ve just added a new one to their line-up that’s just over RM1,000 dubbed the Galaxy A31.
The Galaxy A31 blends a large 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an Infinity-U cutout up top for the 20-MP selfie camera. Powering the phone is a 2GHz octacore processor paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
The rear comes with a quad camera array with a main 48MP F/2.0 camera, a secondary 8MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera, a 5MP macro camera and a 5MP depth sensor for creamy bokeh when taking portraits. Combined, this setup also allows for up to 1080p@30fps video capture.
Traditionalists will also appreciate the fact that the Galaxy A31 still has a 3.5mm audio jack at the base. As entry level phones go, the Galaxy A31 stands out with a rather large 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging which should allow for better than all-day usage.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy A31 is available in your choice of three colours – Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush Blue for RM1,099.

In lieu of that, you can also opt for the even more affordable Galaxy A21s which retails for RM939 and the Galaxy A11 for RM599. Both the Galaxy A21s and Galaxy A11 both have a similar Complimentary Protection Plus plan tacked to them for RM119 which offers added peace of mind though the Galaxy A21s also benefits from an RM50 discount off the retail price like the Galaxy A31 if you purchase it before the end of the month.
