Samsung Galaxy A7 announced with triple camera
Traditionally, Samsung reserves their newest and most innovative technologies for their flagship Galaxy S-series and Note series phones but this time around, their midrange A-series phones are getting the latest fruits from their research and development teams. The latest incarnation of the Galaxy A7 has a bevy of innovative new features that include a triple rear camera.
The biggest draw to the Galaxy A7 is that it has a vertically aligned triple camera which combines a primary 24-MP camera with an F/1.7 aperture, a 5-MP f/2.2 camera with fixed focus for their Live Focus bokeh effect and an 8-MP f/2.4 camera for ultra wide angle shots. One feature that the Galaxy A7 culls from the recently launched Galaxy Note9 is its Scene Optimiser mode that allows it to pick the best out of 20 preselected modes and automatically adjusts colour, contrast and brightness for best results.
The front of the Galaxy A7 is equally well equipped with a larger 24-MP f/2.0 fixed focus camera for selfies and the like. Of note is that the front selfie camera stacks four pixels into one to offer better results under low light conditions. Another novel feature unique to the Galaxy A7 include a side-mounted fingerprint reader which is also a first on any of their phones.
The rest of the hardware on offer consists of a 6.0-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, a 2.2GHz octacore processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB of expandable storage as well as a 3,300mAh battery to keep the lights on. The phone also has Bixby and Samsung Pay support. There’s no official word yet on pricing or availability for the Galaxy A7 but what is confirmed is that Samsung will be bringing in three colour variants to Malaysia – black, blue and gold.
