Samsung’s wefie-centric J7 Prime phone now available in Malaysia for RM1,199
If recent trends are any indication, it’s that people absolutely loving taking wefies. Samsung’s new Galaxy J7 Prime aims to sate that need with a front-facing 8-MP selfie camera that has an F/1.9 aperture for better quality snaps whilst an integrated Wide Selfie mode allows you to not only take a pic of yourself but a good swath of the landscape and your mates too. It also has a front-facing flash for better performance in low light areas.
The rest of the hardware is pretty solid. You have a 5.5-inch 1080P TFT display up front sheathed in Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a smoothly machined aluminium casing. The whole affair is powered by a 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 octacore processor running Android Marshmallow paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable memory. The rear 13-MP camera also has a similar F/1.9 aperture like the front camera.
A large 3,300mAh battery keeps things running, something of an achievement seeing as the phone is 8mm thin. Like the other J-series phones, the J7 Prime’s version of TouchWiz UI also has their Ultra Data Saving Mode (UDS) that runs off Opera Max to offer significant savings on data when browsing, viewing videos and the like. The phone also sports a fingerprint reader too that doubles as a home button. The Galaxy J7 Prime is now available in the market for RM1,199 inclusive of GST and ships in your choice of either White/Gold or Black.
