The exquisitely premium Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION can be yours for RM2,799
When it comes to audio, the Sony 1000X series such as the recent Sony WF-1000XM6 wireless earbuds remain among the best in the market for sound quality and noise cancellation performance. To celebrate a decade of excellence, Sony has officially launched their 1000X THE COLLEXION headphones that are crafted of premium materials for exceptional comfort along with the customary premium sound of the series.
Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION highlights
With the X indicating the roman numeral 10, it’s clear that the design is intended to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sony’s legendary 1000X series since the initial debut of the first MDR-1000X in 2016. With a premium price tag of RM2,799, THE COLLEXION isn’t intended to supersede the existing WH-1000XM6 that remains in service but to act as a more comfortable, more luxurious option for discerning audiophiles.
Unlike the polycarbonate construction of the recently launched WH-1000XM6, the Sony 1000X THE COLLECTION is made predominantly from metal and faux leather with thicker, comfier padding.
Both designs are on-ear headphones though THE COLLEXION isn’t able to fold down into as compact a form factor as the WH-1000XM6 and is also slightly heavier too at 320g versus the prior model’s 253g.
On the hardware front, THE COLLEXION has a newly designed unidirectional 30mm carbon fiber driver and has an upgraded version of their DSEE sound processing dubbed as DSEE Ultimate while retaining a similar QN3 noise cancelling processor and 12 mic-system as the WH-1000XM6 with similar active noise cancellation capabilities. Battery life is quoted to be up to 24 hours.
In Malaysia, the 1000X THE COLLEXION comes in either black or white and is yours for the aforementioned asking price of RM2,799.
