Sony Alpha Experience 2025 at Confetti KL showcases RX1R III camera and more
The recently concluded Sony Alpha Experience 2025 that took place over the weekend saw a host of content creators from photographers to professional filmmakers descending onto the Confetti KL at the Mines, Kuala Lumpur to learn, experiment and celebrate the art of visual storytelling told through the power of Sony’s extensive array of cameras.

What is the Sony RX1R III camera?
At the Sony Alpha Experience 2025 show, Sony also revealed their new RX1R III , a full-frame compact camera that retails for a whopping RM20,999. The new RX1R III is intended as the successor to the prior RX1R II released a decade ago and features a 61MP Exmor-R CMOS back-illuminated sensor paired with Sony’s BIONZ XR image processing engine.

The Sony RX1R III also features their latest AI processing to ensure swift and accurate autofocus on subjects with real-time tracking of subjects including subjects wearing helmets, features 693 phase detection phones and can operate in challenging low light conditions as low as even EV-4.0 in AF-S mode.
The camera also features a ZEISS T* 35mm F2 fixed lens with the ability to also simulate 50mm and 70mm focal lengths. Shots and footage are framed via a 2.36 million dot XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 0.7x magnification or via a 7.5cm TFT LCD touchscreen with 2.3 million dot resolution.

All this is crammed into a light aluminium alloy body that has a tactile grip on the side for better ergonomics and a matte black coating. Keeping it juiced are batteries that offer 300 shots per charge or directly via USB-C power delivery.
