New Sony Ult Wear headphones launched in Malaysia in three colours priced at RM899
Sony is expanding their range of speakers and headphones in Malaysia to cater to a broader clientele. While their top of the line WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds and WH-1000XM5 rule the roost on the premium end of the market, they’ve just launched their new Sony Ult Wear range of on-ear headphones in Malaysia that aim to offer an affordably balanced blend of noise cancelling and bass performance.
Sony Ult Wear price and specifications in Malaysia
Priced at RM899, the Sony Ult Wear headphones aka model WH-ULT900N come in your choice of three colours – black, off white and forest grey. The design is primarily a polycarbonate chassis made of recycled plastic enhanced with a padded headpiece and cushy upholstered cans for comfort.
In terms of connectivity, you have the option to pair up via Bluetooth 5.2 with support for SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs or, optionally, you’re hook it up as a plain traditional pair of wired headphones via a provided 1.2m long cable.
Under the hood, the Sony Ult Wear headphones feature Sony’s Integrated Processor V1 used in the aforementioned premium 1000X series headphones and large 40mm dome-type neodymium drivers to kick out quite a bit of sound along with their Dual Noise Sensor tech that offers hefty noise cancelling capabilities. It also has an ambient sound mode for when you’re out and about and need to hear a measure of external noise.
Of note is that the headphones have an Ult button that radically kicks up the bass output on demand.
Some interesting features of note on the Sony Ult Wear include multipoint connectivity to allow two devices to pair up with the headphones so you can swap them out as the situation requires such as when you need to take a call on your paired phone and then swap it back to your laptop after the call is done.
On paper, the Sony Ult Wear is able to offer up to 30 hours of playback with ANC on and up to 50 hours with ANC with a full recharge requiring about 3.5 hours via a USB-C port. In terms of availability, all three colourways of the Sony Ult Wear are now available nationwide at the Sony online store and all authorised retailers.
