Synology debuts 3.84TB SAT5200 2.5-inch high-reliability solid state drives 

Synology is launching their new SAT5200 series solid state drives that are available in a 2.5-inch SATA form factor with capacities up to 3.84TB.

For the uninitiated, Synology is is best known for their popular NAS range that includes an almost bungle-proof Synology DiskStation Manager OS setup but they’ve just announced that they’re delving into offering solid state drives too. 

The new Synology SAT5200 range are designed for Synology users who require high capacity storage arrays capable of tackling high-performance, low-latency operations in demanding mixed-usage deployments with heavy workloads while ensuring robust data protection.

The SAT5200 SSD range is designed for Synology NAS systems, with the ability to deliver a rated throughput of 98,000 random read and 67,000 random write IOPS, a 1.3 Drive Write Per Day (DWPD) and integrated end-to-end data protection and power loss protection circuits that ensures data is safely written to the drive.

In terms of size, you’re able to acquire the Synology SAT5200 2.5-inch SSDs in 480GB, 960GB, 1.92TB and 3.84TB sizes.

There’s no official price yet but Synology will be making the new SAT5200 SSDs available in Malaysia via Synology’s solution partners and channel networks in the near future. For more details, check them out at www.synology.com
