The Honor 5C is coming to Malaysia
At a recent Lazada press conference, it was made known that the Honor 5C will be making its way to Malaysia soon. Honor’s latest budgetphone was announced sometime in April in China and comes with an impressive feature set for a value oriented phone.
The Honor 5C sports a 5.2-inch Full HD touchscreen display up front, runs Android Marshmallow with their EMUI 4.1 user interface on a Kirin 650 octacore CPU that combines a quartet of Cortex [email protected] cores and a quartet of Cortex [email protected] cores, 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot that takes up to 128GB cards.
The rear comes with a 13-MP snapper with an F/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. The front comes with an 8-MP selfie snapper with an F/2.0 aperture. The rear also sports a fingerprint reader. The base of the phone hosts a microUSB port as opposed to the current trend of USB Type C ports prevalent in flagship phones.
Despite packing a 3,000mAh battery, the Honor 5C has relatively compact dimensions. It measures in at 156g and is 8.3mm thin with an all-metal body. The phone comes in two different flavours – one with 3G only and another with 4G LTE connectivity. The 3G only model retails for RMB899 (about RM558) while the 4G model retails for RMB999 (RM621) though this is only a rough indicator of the local price as GST and other costs have yet to be factored in.
There’s no firm word on a launch date or pricing for Malaysia though Lazada did mention that it will be part of their Riang Ria Raya sales that will commence on 7 June and will run through to 11 July and the Honor 5C should be available at approximately that time as well as on Honor’s own Vmall site. Stay tuned for more details as they arrive.
