The Rise of the Necromancer expansion for Diablo III is here
One of the more memorable characters that you could use in Diablo II was the Necromancer, a pet-based character that used a host of undead beasties as well as area effect spells to lay down the smack. Now, you get to revisit what made him so badass as Blizzard has finally released him as a playable character for Diablo III in the Rise of the Necromancer pack.
The Necromancers in Diablo III offer a new take on gameplay over the previous classes that’s heavy on the usage of expendable minions and takes advantage of the corpses strewn on the battlefield to take down hostiles by making them explode. On top of the playable Necromancer, the pack also throws in an assortment of additional goodies.
For starters, the expansion pack adds a somewhat bizarre looking Half-formed Golem as a pet, two additional characters slots, two additional stash tabs for your player character to store more look and a Necromancer portrait, banner, sigil, accent and Blood Master pennant. Those who want to show off can also get the cosmetic Wings of the Crypt Guardian that can be applied to all Diablo III characters.
The Rise of the Necromancer pack needs the Reaper of Souls expansion pack to work and is available on PCs, Macs, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for US$14.99. On the PC, you can get up to 50% off on Diablo III: Reaper of Souls expansion and the Diablo battle chest. For PlayStation Plus members on PS4 and Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One from now till July 3, interested buyers can get the whole thing via the Diablo III: Eternal Collection bundle at US$39.99.
