TP-Link launches WiFi 8 technology in Malaysia
Smart home product and networking device provider TP-Link officially launched WiFi 8 (802.11bn) technology in Malaysia at their recent TP-Link APAC B2B Summit 2026 after being officially unveiled at IFA 2026. Along with the launch of the technology, TP-Link also showcased their new Archer 8 Ultra router, Deco 8 Ultra mesh WiFi system and Omada WiFi 8 platform.
What is TP-Link’s WiFi 8 technology?
Built on the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, WiFi 8 is engineered around what TP-Link refers to as their WiFi 8 Stability Engine that strengthens coverage, manages congestion and reduces interference for consistent connectivity across multiple devices connected to the same network.

According to TP-Link, WiFi 8 (802.11bn) offers enhanced coverage, reliability and performance, offering 30% higher throughput compared to WiFI 7, 24% better interference handling and 15% stronger mesh performance compared to WiFi 7.

In addition, WiFi 8 will offer better coverage at the edge, more consistent throughput rather than sudden drops near the edge, more efficient use of network spectrum and more efficient use of battery life, waking only when data transfer is needed.

As part of the new WiFi 8 standard, TP-Link will release the new TP-Link Archer 8 Ultra router, Deco 8 Ultra home mesh system and the Omada 8 routers in ceiling, wall-mounted and outdoor variants though no prices or local launch dates were announced at the event.

At the summit, TP-Link also announced plans to form the Omada-VIGI AI Application Developer Alliance to create AI-powered solutions for deployment across everyday scenarios and settings.
