Transcend’s new upgrade kit lets you retrofit your hard disk into a portable drive

If you have an unused hard disk or SSD lying around, this external enclosure kit lets you retrofit it into a portable disk drive. Dubbed the StoreJet 25CK3, this upgrade kit or rather, retrofit kit, depending on your perspective consists of an exterior shell and the proper mountings to integrate a 2.5-inch hard disk drive or SSD with nippy transfer speeds ensured on account of a USB 3.0 port. The interior has a rubber shock absorber to survive manhandling and comes with a spacer to accommodate slimmer drives.

It’s not just a housing though as it has a few additional interesting technologies built-in to manage wear and tear on your drives for a longer lifespan and also manages power efficiently.
