TrueMoney e-wallet now lets you pay for groceries at Lotus’s stores in Malaysia

Shopping at Lotus’s vast network of hypermarket outlets in Malaysia is now easier with the addition of the TrueMoney e-wallet that is now available in Malaysia and which makes payments not only for groceries but other services and products a cinch.

What is the TrueMoney e-wallet

In a press launch today, they announced that they are now the official ‘payment provider’ for all Lotus’s hypermarkets in Malaysia though other payment solutions continue to be available with TrueMoney acting as a seamless additional option for shoppers.

The TrueMoney e-wallet app is available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and allows users to pay bills and utilities, top up phone accounts, peer-to-peer transfers and even add to game credits for popular mobile games and more from the app.

On activation, users will get an RM10 TrueQuest reward as well as a slew of Lotus’s cashback and points perks in the bargain. Much like many modern mobile games, TrueQuest is a gamified set of objectives that can be completed to earn cashbacks.

According to TrueMoney, they operate in six countries in Southeast Asia including Malaysia and have over 50 million users. The ewallet itself is operated by the eponymous TrueMoney fintech company that’s under Ascend Money, the fintech arm of the Ascend Group that was first founded in Thailand in 2003.

“We, TrueMoney, have now expanded into the Malaysian market, marking the company’s 7th Southeast Asian country of operation. Through our eWallet, we offer seamless payment and convenience to all users, with a wallet size of RM10,000 and the utmost assurance of safe and secure payment. We aim to leverage our international presence to create a holistic and dynamic approach to creating a payment ecosystem within Southeast Asia that benefits individuals and SMEs; which includes cross-border payments in the pipeline. We might be the new kid on the block, but we bring with us a strong tech infrastructure & pre-existing businesses to connect with users in Malaysia,” said Jessie Chong, Ascend Group’s Country Managing Director.
