After the launch of their popular v30 Pro earlier in the year, vivo Malaysia is releasing another addition to their V series lineup dubbed the vivo V30e that further optimises the design for better image portraiture while adding a distinctly premium touch to its design belying its modest RM1,399 price point. From its official launch today, vivo V30e Malaysia preorders are live with a slated street date of 4th May 2024 at all good outlets and vivo retailers nationwide.

The biggest draw to the phone is its potent dual rear camera array that consists of a 50MP primary camera that utilises a high-spec Sony IMX882 sensor along with optical image stabilisation which is a rarity in entry to midrange phones. This is paired with an 8MP ultra wide angle camera with the whole array capable of capturing up to 4K video and lossless 2x zoom.
This camera setup is complemented by their Aura Light Portrait 3.0 LED flash which is intelligent enough to offer appropriately cool or warm lighting based on the scenario at hand, expanding the colour temperature range by close to 20% for more creative options. Up front, the phone has a single 32MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Where the vivo V30e impresses are its two available colourways, both of which look rather post. The first, dubbed as Sky Mirror is an eye catching off-white finish with striations that are made to resemble cirrus uncinus cloud formations with their dreamy looking wisps that meander across the backplate and which alter slightly in colour as the phone is held up to the light.
The other colourway designated as Coco Brown is a classier more conservative colourway with a matte deep chocolate brown finish embellished with Fluorite AG accents with a silk grid patterned streak vertically bisecting the backplate much like the seams of a finely cut suit.
Regardless of colourway, the vivo V30e sports an IP645 duster and water resistance rating that renders it proof against splashes of water and dust ingress.
Up front, the vivo V30e features a 6.78-inch FHD+ 3D curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate protected by tough Schott α glass for superior resistance to drops and nicks. Powering the phone is an efficient Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor that has 5G connectivity and running Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 under the hood paired with 8GB RAM (and 8GB of virtual Extended RAM) and 256GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot.
