vivo X Fold5 launched in Malaysia; flagship foldable priced at RM6,999

vivo has launched their first foldable in Malaysia dubbed the vivo X Fold5 that blends a slim yet durable chassis with ZEISS cameras and a huge battery in a chassis that weighs just 217g while being 9.7mm thin folded down and 4.55mm when unfolded for the Feather White variant. The Titanium Grey colourway is slightly thinner and lighter.

That’s not all, the vivo X Fold5 has a chassis that has IP5X dust resistance, IPX8 and IPX8 water resistance as well as 2nd Gen Armor Glass protecting its front display to create an exceptionally durable chassis for everyday use.

Up front, the foldable has a front 6.53-inch AMOLED display with 1,172 x 2,748 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and 5,500 nits peak brightness while the main AMOLED display spans 8.03-inches, has a 120Hz refresh rate, has, 2,200 x 2,480 pixels resolution and also has 4,500 nits peak brightness. 

What is more impressive is that the vivo X Fold5 manages to cram in a 6,000mAh Bluevolt battery split into two separate cells while featuring 80W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging too. Under the hood, the foldable features a proven Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset paired with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. The phone also runs Android 15 with their own FunTouch OS 15 overlaying it that now has a number of AI features including their Origin Workbench multitasking feature and their DocMaster for easy document format conversion and annotation.

For imaging duties, the phone has  rear ZEISS triple camera array with a primary 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX921 sensor, a 50MP ultra wide angle camera with a 120-degree field of view and a 50MP zeiss Telephoto camera with 3x zoom and 100x digital zoom. The front and main display each have a  20MP camera for selfies.

In Malaysia, the vivo X Fold5 is only available in one configuration with 16GB RAM/512GB storage and either Feather White or Titanium Grey colourways priced at RM6,999 with preorders commencing from 29th July 2025.
