Xiaomi 14T series launched in Malaysia with top-their low light photography

Xiaomi has unveiled their latest array of smartphones dubbed the Xiaomi 14T series that offer exceptional low light photography. Consisting of the Xiaomi 14T Pro and the Xiaomi 14T, the new photography series feature potent AI-enhanced imaging technology, cutting edge hardware and an array of features to make taking low light shots a cinch.

The top-tier Xiaomi 14T Pro comes with a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display that has 2,712 x 1,220 pixels resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, up to 3,840 PWM dimming and including Low Blue Light (hardware solution), Flicker Free and Circadian Friendly certification too. Flanking the display are a pair of stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support along with Hi-Res and Hi-Res Audio wireless certification too.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 14T Pro is built around a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage along with fast 5G, WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 along with the latest array of AI-powered features including Circle to Search with Google, AI Interpreter and more. The Xiaomi 14T Pro is also built to impressive standards with an aluminium chassis as well as IP68 dust and water resistance.

Where the Xiaomi 14T Pro punches above its weight class is its sophisticated rear triple camera array that leverages Xiaomi’s close collaboration with renowned camera purveyor Leica.

The rear triple camera array of the Xiaomi 14T Pro features a primary 50MP F/1.6 camera that uses a custom-designed Light Fusion 900 image sensor designed for superior low light performance and up to 13.57EV dynamic range paired with optical image stabilisation and a Leica Vario-Summilux 1.:1.6-2.2/15-60 ASPH lens. Riding shotgun to this impressive main camera is a 50MP F/2.0 telephoto camera and a 12MP F/2.2 ultra wide camera. Up front, you get a 32MP F/2.0 camera for selfies.

Complementing the impressive Leica-tuned cameras are a bevy of Leica modes and filters including two Leica photography styles (VIbrant and Authentic), half a dozen Leica filters and a special Leica Master Lens system for the provided portrait mode that emulate four classic camera lenses when capturing images. Keeping the Xiaomi 14T Pro is a 5,000mAh battery with 120W wired and, for the first time on a Xiaomi T-series phone,  50W wireless charging.

While it does bear a somewhat similar appearance to the higher end Xiaomi 14T Pro, the Xiaomi 14T has a flatter backplate and a less prominent, flatter camera array that sits more flush with the backplate.

The display of the Xiaomi 14T is identical to that on the Xiaomi 14T Pro which is a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, 3,840 PWM dimming and 4,000 nits peak brightness. Flanking the display are a set of stereo speakers much like the Xiaomi 14T Pro.

The hardware on the Xiaomi 14T differs slightly from the Pro model with the use of a slightly slower MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra processor with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The Xiaomi 14T also uses the slightly slower WiFi 6E though it still uses Bluetooth 5.4 and 5G. Processor aside, the Xiaomi 14T has a similarly sized 5,000mAh battery but relies on slower 67W fast charging.

For snapping shots and video, the Xiaomi 14T has almost the same triple camera setup as the Xiaom i14T Pro with minor differences in camera aperture and sensors. The main 50MP F/1.7 camera uses a Sony IMX906 image sensor with optical image stabilisation and a Leica Vario-Summilux 1:1.7-2.2/15-50 ASPH lenses. The secondary 50MP F/1.9 camera has a slightly wider aperture while the 12MP F/2.2 ultra wide camera is otherwise identical. The front has an identical 32MP F/2.0 camera for video calls and mugshots.

The Xiaomi 14T also has a similar array of Leica-tuned features including two Leica photographic styles, Leica filters and the Master Lens system.

In Malaysia, the Xiaomi 14T Pro will be available in Titan Grey, Titan Blue and Titan Black with 12GB RAM and 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage variants. The Xiaomi 14T comes in Titan Blue, Titan Black and a special Lemon Green colourway that has a faux leather textured finish and with 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage variants.
