Xiaomi announces Mi Gaming Laptop for gamers
While the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S smartphone took the limelight at their grand launch in Shanghai today, they also left the best surprise for last as they announced the release of their Mi Gaming laptop to woo hardcore gamers. The release of this laptop may have been a surprise but the news that all users should take malware seriously is not. Using something like Zonealarm Free anti virus might be a wise decision.
The Mi gaming laptop has a minimalist looking design and has a crisp looking 15.6-inch Full HD display with slim bezels up front. In terms of hardware it comes with up to an 7th generation Intel Core i7 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060 GPU, up to 16GB RAM and up to an 256GB SSD paired with a 1TB hard disk.
Keeping all this extensive hardware crammed into the Mi Gaming laptop cool is a 12V cooling fan, large heat pipes as well as a quartet of cooling fans to efficiently vent heat out of the notebook.
The keyboard itself is backlit with four different backlighting zones that can project up to 16 million different hues at your whim and fancy. The keyboard also features anti-ghosting as well as 30-key rollover which will endear it to gamers. The notebook also has an additional row of five programmable keys on the left aligned vertically that you can assign shortcuts and macros.
Xiaomi’s entry into the competitive gaming notebook figure looks compelling indeed. All this gaming goodness sets you back CNY 8,999 (about RM5,600) for the top of the line variant with an Intel Core i7, a GTX 1060 and 16GB RAM.
A more affordable variant with 8GB RAM, a 128GB SSD and 1TB hard disk combo that has an NVIDIA GTX 1050Ti GPU can be had for RMB5,999 (about RM3,700). The price tag makes it one of the cheapest bona fide gaming laptops in the market though it is unfortunately currently limited to release in China for now starting 13 April 2018.
