Xiaomi opens new Mi Store at Midvalley & launches Pocophone F1 in Malaysia
Xiaomi Malaysia today marked several milestones as they celebrated the opening of their Mi Store located at Midvalley megamall as well as the initial sales of their flagship killer Pocophone F1 in Malaysia that comes with top-shelf specs at bargain prices.
A horde of fans eager to get their hands on the new smartphone lined up from the wee hours of the evening before from 8.00PM onwards just to get their hands on Xiaomi’s latest phone. The brand sweetened the pot for the first 200 who queued up as they threw in a pair of free Mi Sports wireless earphones as well as a series of ‘grab claw’ games that offered additional tempting prizes.
For the uninitiated, the new Pocophone F1 comes with a 6.18-inch FHD+ touchscreen up front, a potent top-end Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM and either 64GB or128GB of storage, a dual 12MP + 5-MP rear camera array, a front-facing 20-MP selfie camera and a 4,000mAh battery. In Malaysia, the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant of the Pocophone F1 is a Lazada exclusive retailing at RM1,237 while the larger 6GB RAM/128GB variant is available at retail at the Mi Store and other locations nationwide for RM1,428.
After the implementation of SST in, the former will retail for RM1,299 while the latter will retail for RM1,499. This still makes it one of, if not the cheapest smartphone to use the flagship Snapdragon 845 array which makes it a very tempting proposition for those looking for that sweet spot between power and affordability in a phone.
