Xiaomi Pad 5 is their latest 11-inch Android tablet in ages; costs RM1,715 and up

Xiaomi hasn’t made a tablet in the last few years but the winds of change are blowing and they’ve just launched a new Android tablet dubbed the Xiaomi Pad 5 that comes in two colours and two storage configurations.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 features an 11-inch WQHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 860 processor paired up with 6GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. Connectivity is capped to WiFi only.

The front facing 8MP F/2.0 selfie camera is able to take snaps and 1080P video while the rear 13MP F/2.0 camera is capable of 4K video capture. Keeping the tablet powered is an 8,720mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

Other mod-cons include quad speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos and compatibility with their Xiaomi Smart Pen stylus that weighs just 12.2g to jot notes.

In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi Pad 5 will be priced at €349 (about RM1,715) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant while the larger variant with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage will cost €399 ( about RM1,960). Colour choices for both variants are Cosmic Gray and Pearl White. There’s no availability dates or local pricing just yet in Malaysia but we’ll keep you posted.
