Xiaomi Redmi 10 redefines what affordable is with a 50MP camera, a 90Hz display and RM649 price tag

The new Xiaomi Redmi 10 is perhaps the most compelling entry level phone that we’ve laid eyes on in ages as it costs from RM649 but packs a ton of features that’d give phones double its price tag a run for its money.

In terms of hardware, the Redmi 10 is a mix of both features that are both practical and desirable. Up front, the phone has a large 6.5-inch FHD+ display (2,400 x 1080 pixels) with a fast 90Hz refresh rate, a workhorse MediaTek Helio G88 processor and two potential storage configurations with a 4GB RAM/64GB version and a larger 6GB RAM/128GB storage version. A 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

What’s more surprising is that the phone retains a 3.5mm audio jack, has stereo speakers and the inclusion of a rear quad camera array (50MP F/1.8 + 8MP ultra wide angle + F/2.4 depth sensor + 2MP macro camera) with a front-facing selfie camera. What’s more surprising is that the phone also ships with a 22.5W charger. 

Xiaomi Redmi 10 Price in Malaysia

Just glancing at the Redmi 10’s spec sheet raises eyebrows in a pleasant fashion, more so for what you pay for with the 4GB RAM/ 64GB version costing RM649 and the slightly beefier 6GB RAM/ 128GB version costing RM749.

For the price of entry, you’re getting a phone with a 90Hz display, stereo speakers, a quad camera, an audio jack and expandable storage too along with fast charging support. That’s immense value any way you slice it.

In Malaysia, the Redmi 10 is available at all authorised Mi stores and official retailers in Malaysia as well as their official stores on Lazada and Shopee from 20th August onwards.
