Xiaomi Redmi 13 budget phone now in Malaysia from RM699

If you’re on the hunt for a budget phone in Malaysia that’s a bit more affordable than their current midrange darling the Redmi Note 13, the new Xiaomi Redmi 13 brings a lot to the table for RM699 and the brand has just made the phone available nationwide.

The Redmi 13 comes with a 6.79-inch FHD+ (2,460 x 1080 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate that has TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, runs on a MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot. Interestingly enough, it’s also one of the rare few phones these days that has a 3.5mm audio jack.

In terms of connectivity, it’s capped at 4G LTE and WiFi 6 though it typically isn’t an issue at this price point. For snapping shots, the rear comes with a 108MP F/1.75 camera that utilises a large Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor. RIding shotgun is a 2MP F/2.4 macro camera. Up front, you get a single 13MP selfie camera with both front and rear cameras offering1080p at 30fps video capture. Keeping the whole affair powered is a 5,030mAh battery rated for up to 28 hours of music playback time. The phone also has 33W fast charging to top it to full in about 62 minutes.
